best lunch spots in austin!

by Noble Martin

Lunch. Arguably, the second breakfast if you woke up late. I enjoy my lunches away from school: Griffin is centered around numerous coffee shops and restaurants that cater to your cravings. So far, I have composed a list of various options to grab a bite to eat with my friends during our fifty minute lunch period, all of which are either walkable or drivable.

The classics are walkable. First, Flightpath; a cute coffee shop perfect for a caffeine pick-me-up and an hour's worth of studying. Not only do I go here for lunch on occasion, it is perfect for your first two hours off during a study hall. Secondly, an affordable place of concessions, “The Corner Store” / Duval Market. It’s perfect for in and out snacks and drinks to tie your hunger over.

When juniors and seniors obtain their license, all they want to do is drive. My friends and I enjoy having that privilege and using it to drive places for lunch. There are countless places to go from grocery stores like Fresh Plus and Target, to restaurants like Kerbey Lane and YaYa’s Cafe. I love it simple: a quick bite to eat or a grab and go. My personal favorites conclude: Nervous Charlie’s Bagels, P-Terry’s, Quack’s, Soup Peddler, and Gelatoro/Juiceland. All are perfect for a quick drive, some time to chill and eat, and make it back on time for your next class. After having my junior year filled with endless opportunities for places to go for lunch, I have composed a list of seventeen options to go close to my school. Enjoy!
