hello!! i’m sam waheed!!

Every work I create is a representation of my multiplicity, a blend of colors and forms that convey my inner world and outer lived experiences. I am a combination of different religions, cultures, interests, and communities. Through my work I explore experiences I have yet to fully process and memories I refuse to let fade away. I love incorporating a diverse range of materials, textures, and forms into my artistic creations. I utilize watercolors, abstract cutout shapes, floral elements, stickers, and vivid markers. I love creating multifaceted pieces, making individual layers and adding them on top of each other in collages and multimedia works. Often the physical works are used in the videos or photographs I create. This allows me to accentuate the work giving it a dreamlike quality, recognizable and imaginative. I make pieces that capture the essence and emotions of a moment. Above all, creating is fulfilling for me, and through my art, I hope to share my experiences and emotions with others, inviting them to connect with their own inner selves.
